New Film Sales Company Comes Out Swinging With “PHANTOM PUNCH”
Toronto, ON (Wednesday, January 9, 2008 ) - Toronto based film sales company Cinesavvy, Inc. has secured the worldwide sales rights from Access Motion Pictures for the Robert Townsend directed biopic “Phantom Punch,” which features Ving Rhames as the late, controversial heavyweight boxing champ Sonny Liston. Cinesavvy is an exciting new sales company dedicated to bringing quality film projects to the international market.  With a mandate to uncover hidden gems and foster creative talent, Cinesavvy is a new breed of sales company, where quality comes first.

“Cinesavvy is committed to delivering the highest quality entertainment to audiences, and we truly believe the best way to do that is to go the extra mile and facilitate filmmakers in getting their visions to the screen.   We are proud to be able to say that we can get involved with promising projects at virtually any stage of development,” says Managing Director Abhi Rastogi.

“Phantom Punch” chronicles the tragic life of former heavyweight boxing champ Sonny Liston, portrayed by Rhames.  The film follows Liston’s life from his discovery in the Missouri State Penitentiary to his meteoric rise and equally stunning fall from the championship at the hands of a young Cassius Clay.  No punches are pulled as the movie tackles his involvement with the mob, run ins with the law, and the circumstances around his mysterious and untimely death.

“With Phantom Punch, we have a gifted director in Robert Townsend, who has made a name for himself as an independent filmmaker, and our lead Ving Rhames gives the performance of his career as the troubled boxer Sonny Liston.  This is exactly the kind of film project that Cinesavvy hopes to bring to the market,” opines Rastogi.
